Ashton Kutcher gets Punk’d
Ashton Kutcher, the host of Punk’d, who once claimed to be “unpunkable” has been punk’d. He fell for the ruse known as Twitter. The setup for the elaborate prank was started about three years ago by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone. The plan involved creating a highly popular web-based service. Then, with the help of some high profile associates they were able to lure Kutcher into their trap. The three remarked at how well the prank evolved into something so spectacular that they could not have envisaged how funny it would become.
Kutcher, totally taken in by Twitter, believed he had attracted over 1 million followers before his rival CNN. However, little did he know that all of his petitioning for more followers was only exacerbating the joke further.
Upon been told of his total punkage, Kutcher denied not knowing Twitter was a joke and exclaimed aloud that he was still “unpunkable.” Oprah, who was in on the joke, remarked on how difficult it was to maintain a straight face knowing that Kutcher was soon to be told the truth.
Now that the prank has ended, it is expected for the Twitter website to be turned into a homage to the epic punkage.
