n Posts Ago - a tumblr version of On This Date
I saw the WordPress plugin called “On this date in …” that shows previous posts from previous years on this date. I thought it would be awesome to have something similar for tumblr. Unfortunately tumblr’s Read API only works by post count and not by date so I did the next best thing. I introduce you to “n Posts Ago…” where n is the offset to the small list of posts being displayed. It is implemented as a hastily thrown together bit of Ajax based script that you embed into your custom tumblr theme. Just visit my tumblelog to see it in action.
